it was a perfect new york city weekend
went to robertas with the bf for pizza on friday
went to brown for baked eggs on saturday
court and i wandered the lower east side
stopped into schillers for a bloody mary
stopped into babycakes for a donut
watched movies and drank green juice from organic avenue
took the subway up to midtown to see a friend in the young new york chorus sing in an amazing old church
saw the tree at rockefeller
ate at an old favorite thai restaurant
bought a new coat for the first time in four years
roasted brisket and made potato latkes in honor of chanukah

a weekend to be remembered!

fall weekend

This weekend we hopped on a train and went to the Jets Stadium to watch Notre Dame play the Navy. We lost (understatement) and Ben was not a happy camper but I was happy because this is probably the first weekend that it really feels like fall. It smells like fall, it looks like fall. I just feel alive with fall.

Last night my roommate threw a rooftop gathering and I made Butter Bourbon Cider. I recommend this recipe to all of you for your fall cookout's, bonfires, rooftop parties, etc. It is quick and easy and when you drink it you feel warm all over.

Now we are resting up and watching football (okay I'm not watching football I am listening to this fall mix instead). But today is beautiful and I could not be happier.

It is beautiful outside today and I haven't even stepped foot outside my door.
So happy to live in New York in this cozy little apartment that gets plenty of sunlight

Rainy Day Weekend

This week/weekend was one of the best I've had in a very long time. Mostly because of the company I kept, but also because of the dining I got to experience.

Wednesday: Had a friend over to make a kale and lentil stew. One friend turned into three friends and one bottle of wine turned into three bottles. Needless to say it was a memorable evening and a ton of fun.

Friday: Had a huge helping of amazing Indian food brought to my coworkers and I by one of our SoHo neighbors. Then I spent a lowkey night out at I Tre Merli Bistro for drinks and catching best friends.

Saturday: Had brunch at Cafe Gitane (Cucumber Mint Juice and Baked Eggs with Salmon, Potatoes, and Cream pictured above) which is one of my favorite places in the city and also the prototype for the restaurant I will own and run someday (shhh.... one can dream). The day also led to drinks and mini pbj sandwiches with coworkers at Botanica Bar after work.

Sunday: Worked all day, sipped fantastic coffee and prepared for my new job which I start TOMORROW!!!!!

Today I am incredibly grateful for:

- lowkey nights with good friends
- a city of unlimited restaurants
- keeping busy
- a fabulous new job
