It is a new year and it is going to be so different from any other year I've ever had. I'm moving from my comfortable Midwestern life in Indianapolis to my first job in the real world and in New York City. With all these changes and so many new things going on, I decided for the first year ever to make some New Years resolutions.
1. Everything in Moderation
- don't work too much, don't play too much, don't eat too healthy, don't eat all junk food, etc. practice all things in moderation!
2. Enjoy what the Italians call "Il Bel Far Niente" or the Art of doing nothing.
- I have a hard time relaxing and enjoying doing absolutely nothing... I'm going to work on my fear of boredom.
3. Become more eco-aware.
- Start recycling and conserving - for obvious reasons.
4. Read the books I buy before going out and buying more.
- I've got about a years worth of reading in my collection just because I buy more books than I can read.
5. Drink more H2O!
- Since I'm not going to resolve to eating better or working out.... this is a healthy alternative!
6. Savor Everything!
- From what I eat to what I'm doing at any given moment. Like the French!
7. Pray more
- I'm moving to new york..... I'm doing new things.... I'm taking a leap.... and I'm gonna need my faith!
So here's to the New Year and making the most of it!

I resolve never to make new years resolutions...hehe...i do agree with everything in moderation though! I miss you! I'm looking at the gray and white rooms on your blog and in my own bedroom and realizing that the snowy sky color I painted it was lovely for a month, but now i am so sick of gray days...it has been a stream of endless gray days around here since you left! I found two starbucks mint fraps in the bottom of the fridge today and cried cuz I think you must have left them here! Hehe! I know the sun is up there somewhere & blue skies will shine upon me soon! Love you and hope you are enjoying yourself grandly at the Grand! God Bless You Deary!

I just happened upon your blog and am enjoying your musings. I have never before heard of "Il Bel Far Niente" - but now hope to become an expert at it.
Have a great day.
